NEW FOUND GLORY

New Found Glory formed in the middle of 1997 as "A New Found Glory" with Jordan Pundik on vocals, Chad Gilbert (formerly of metalcore band Shai Hulud) and Steve Klein on guitars, Ian Grushka on bass and Joe Moreno on drums. The band's first release was 1997's It's All About the Girls EP, released by Fiddler Records in June. Soon after the recording of It's All About the Girls, Moreno was replaced by current drummer Cyrus Bolooki. Their subsequent debut album Nothing Gold Can Stay was released by Eulogy Recordings; the release of this album combined with an extensive touring schedule soon earned the band a significant following. 2000 - 2006 The band then signed to Drive-Thru Records,[1] releasing an EP titled From the Screen to Your Stereo in 2000. After that, they dropped the "A" from their name, and their self titled album New Found Glory was then released by MCA Records, who had taken notice of the band's success while on Drive-Thru. The band's third studio album, Sticks and Stones, was released in 2002. This release was followed by their second appearance on the Warped Tour.[2] The album Catalyst was released in May 2004 and it debuted at number 3 on the Billboard' album chart in late May, selling 146,000 albums in its first week.[3][4] After the release and tour in support of Catalyst, the band took an extended break before beginning preproduction for another album in 2005. On June 14, 2006, Gilbert announced to MTV.com that their fifth album would be titled Coming Home and that it was scheduled to be released on September 19, 2006. He also stated that first single, "It's Not Your Fault" would be released sometime in July 2006. 2007 - Present From the Screen to Your Stereo Part II, the band's follow up to From the Screen to Your Stereo, was released on September 18, 2007. Unlike the earlier EP, Part II is a full-length album, containing 11 songs plus one bonus track for the Japanese edition and iTunes. The first single from the album was "Kiss Me"[6] and the video can be viewed on MySpaceTV. The band toured the UK and Ireland (headline show) in early 2008 with Paramore, Kids In Glass Houses and Conditions. Sometime in April 2008 a CD called Punk Goes Crunk will feature New Found Glory covering "Tennessee", originally by Arrested Development. This is another album of the Punk Goes... collection. New Found Glory already had another song, "Heaven", released on Punk Goes Metal. In March 2008, a compilation named Hits will be released, containing some of the best of their music. One previously unreleased song, "Situation", will take part on this album. According to AbsolutePunk.net[7], the band will release, in April 2008, an EP with 6 tracks on Bridge 9 Records containing both new material and covers of classic hardcore punk songs. The EP, entitled Tip of the Iceberg, will be sold on CD, 7" and digitally, through the Internet. The band plans to release their next full length on a TBA major label this Summer.
